Pretty in Pink and All Worn Out

This past Sunday our Little Miss was all pretty in her pink.  She looks so grown up!

And our Little Miss Busy Bee was all worn out after church.  We normally come home and eat lunch - our children rarely fall asleep in the car, but she did on the 15 minute ride home.  So, she must have been tired.  I changed her out of her church clothes, into play clothes and changed her diaper and she never woke up.  So, I let her sleep.

More Fun With Aunt Mandi

After the zoo, we headed home and Aunt Mandi spent a few days with us before she headed back out East.  The kids just LOVE having their Aunt Mandi around because she is not afraid to do almost any thing they ask her too.

Help Little Miss ride her bike around the block.

Kick the ball with Little Man.

Walk around the yard with Little Miss Busy Bee.

Play fun games with all the kids.

Play Hide'n'Seek with Little Miss.  (Yes, this is Little Miss hiding....right in the middle of the yard.  To her, if her eyes are covered, you can't see her)

And paint toe nails.

The kids had so much and they will greatly miss their Aunt Mandi.  Little Man already asked when she is coming back and why we can't just go visit her.  If only the road was shorter.

Thanks again Aunt Mandi - We love you!

Four Kids - Four Personalities

Aunt Kelly and I will often laugh as we see how our children behave and how their behavior somewhat matches together.  The boys LOVE playing together and the girls absolutely ADORE one another, but sometimes we catch them pairing up in twos in a different way.

These two photos from the zoo basically show how it usually happens.  We ask the children to take a picture next to the giraffe and here is what we get:

Two children posing by the giraffe.....

And two children running around on the rocks near by.

We love ALL their personalities...it is so much fun to have cousins living so close by.
Such a blessing!

The Walker - A Mistake

Our Little Miss Busy Bee hates to be confined. She loves her freedom and wants to roam everywhere.  This afternoon the older two were working on a project at the table that I needed to help them with, so I needed to keep Little Bee busy.  I thought we would try the walker and see if she would enjoy it. (For those of you who don't know - she is not quite walking on her own yet.  She crawls, cruises along furniture and stands up on her own, but not walking).  So, I thought, she would love the walker, she could go all over the kitchen.  Here is what happen...

I put her in the walker and she...

Screamed....she wanted out.

Once I finally convinced her to be happy and I turned my head for a second she was:

Climbing out!

So, I took her out thinking, okay, we will just be done. I turn my head for a second and she is:

Climbing back in!

I observe and watch her....

She is successful by getting herself back in, but she is then....

In backwards!  This entertains for a moment, but she quickly wants out again.

I take her out and she once again tries to get back in....

This time not so successful!

We decide that walker is going back in the basement.

And where is Miss Busy Bee....back in her Pack'n'Play - safely confined.

Trip to the Zoo

Aunt Mandi came to visit last week.  We met her in Omaha and had a fun day at the Zoo.

The girls had Aunt Mandi off and running right away.

Little Busy Bee waited patiently for her turn with Aunt Mandi.  She loved that her Aunt let her walk through the Butterfly house and she enjoyed trying to grab one butterfly after another.

Grammie came with us to the zoo too.  Behind them in the picture below are the monkey's - Little Miss LOVES the monkeys!  She loves how they swing and climb and move so fast.  Hmmmm...I wonder why?  She is just like a monkey sometimes.

What did Little Miss enjoy more?  The animals or climbing around like the animals?

You might want to ask Aunt Mandi - who I guess I owe a BIG thank you too - she was Little Miss's "buddy" for the day....let's just say, I think Aunt Mandi should have wore her running shoes verses her sandals.

What about Little Man?  He came too and was quite a big help to his mom.  He pulled his two little sisters around in the wagon.

And with him, there is always time for a funny face photo.

We had a wonderful time at the zoo and are thankful that we got to go!

PURPLE THREE YEAR OLD

Little Miss will be turning 3 on Tuesday (August 14th).  I can't believe it.  It seems like she is really growing up lately.  We are able to have longer conversations, she is asking more questions and becoming much more aware of her surroundings (more observant).  She also enjoys reading stories now and can sit through a book.  We started doing some school already and she is doing better with completing her worksheets and different activities.

For her birthday this year we are doing a PURPLE theme!  Who knew that she would pick that?  We were even able to find a Bible verse with a purple theme, so her Birthday verse this year is:

She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.  Proverbs 31:22

She was so good while we took her PURPLE birthday photos.

True or False?
She was so tired after the "photo shoot" that she fell asleep for a nap.

Okay, now I know that any of you reading this Blog who know Little Miss know that the above isn't true.  It was hard enough to get her to pretend to be asleep.  Thankfully I have a camera that takes really quick pictures - otherwise I would have missed her eyes closed.

Ready for Winter

Our kids LOVE to dress up.  Have I mentioned that before?  This afternoon they found some of their winter clothes and quickly put it on.  Little Miss was ready to wear it outside, but I told her she had to wait until the snow came.

All within 5 Minutes

It has become apparent that our littlest seems to be quite the busy little girl.  After eating breakfast our normal morning routine is to head upstairs and do our morning chores.  As we head upstairs, Little Busy Bee begs to get out of my arms and climb up the stairs on her own.

Once we get upstairs I (mom) head to the laundry room to start a load.  It isn't within seconds that I hear "MOMMY" from Little Man.  I run into the room to discover:

I take her off the rocking chair and can't even get out of the room when Little Man is saying again, "MOMMY."  I also hear some giggles from the girls as I discover:

Yes, she has climbed on top of her sister's bed and she now enjoys jumping up and down.  Little Miss and her were having quite a fun time until I reminded Little Miss that she is too big to jump on her bed.

So, I decide to bring Little Busy Bee with me to the laundry room, but the minute I put her down, she is off again.  To where I wonder...not the bedroom this time, but the bathroom.  I hear giggles and I check to see:

She has climbed herself onto the step stool and right before I took this picture she was quite proud of herself just barely looking over the counter.

This truly all happened this morning in a matter minutes.  She loves to roam, she LOVES to climb, and she loves to be free.  Thankfully I have some help from Little Man and Little Miss to keep an eye our sweet little Busy Bee.  (Notice how her name has changed...she is no longer Miss Content).

Rock a bye Baby

This afternoon our Littlest was sitting so sweetly in the rocking chair rocking her baby. So I quickly went to grab the camera for a picture.

Thankfully I snapped a picture before she noticed and then threw her baby on the floor.

This was her laughing about throwing her baby on the floor.
Thankfully she has time to be trained on to be gentle.

Trip To Grammie's

The kids and I took a few days and went to visit Grammie.  We enjoyed hiking up to the Tower at Pilot Knob.

After we hiked up to the tower, we have to get our binoculars out to see what we can see.

Mom and our Littlest made the hike too.

Family Birthday Party

The other day we had a birthday party at our house for some of the family members who birthdays are in July and August.  Our Littlest got a new shopping cart, which she is enjoying:

These three cousins enjoyed eating dinner together.

Uncle J is entertaining the kids table while they wait for their food.

We sang Happy Birthday and ate a very sugar filled cake that Little Man and Little Miss helped make
