Friday with Friends

This past Friday we were blessed to have two friends come over to play with the kids.  They had the day off from school and chose to come over and help me with my children.  They were such a blessing.

The girls helped make lunch.

They then had a busy morning of playing house, playing paper dolls, necklaces, the game Trouble, dancing together, and probably many more activities.  Little Miss keeps her friends moving from one activity to the next.

The boys enjoyed racing their motorcycles, playing Guess Who and playing Lego's.  Little Man's friend also built him a couple paper airplanes, which he is greatly enjoying flying around the house.

We also had a craft time - which was wonderful having these two older kids to help out with.

Our kids had so much fun.  We are very blessed to have these two older kids in our lives and to have such good role models for our children.  It sure meant a lot to our kids that they would take time to come play with them.  Thank you!

Piano Lessons

Little Man has started taking piano lessons from his Grandma.  Little Miss takes them too - just a much shorter version.

Little Man really seems to be enjoying them and we are enjoying the extra time we get to spend with Grandma.

Dad usually entertains the girls while Little Man is having his lessons.

After Little Man is done, Little Miss has her turn.  Once she is done, Little Busy Bee quickly goes running to the piano.  She always has to wait until last and is so excited when it is finally her turn.

Little Busy Bee's piano "lesson" consist of Grandma saying
 "Play Gentle."

Thanks Grandma for taking the time for our children!

Special Trip To Michigan

Last weekend we made a special trip to Michigan to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.  It was just Little Man and mom, Aunt Fell and her son, and brother Luke.   It was such a blessing to get to spend some time with our grandparents.

We also got to make a quick trip to visit Great Grandma Frieda too.

Pumpkin Patch Two - Little Busy Bee

This little girl loved going down the slide!  She kept wanting more and more and more slide!

When I finally distracted her and had her in my lap, she was loving playing with the camera.  She kept putting it to her eyes and then I hear her say all on her own as clear as day "Say Cheese"

Pumpkin Patch

Today the kids and I were blessed to go on a field trip to a Pumpkin Patch with a group of friends.  The kids all had a lot of fun.

The group!

Of the 16 children, 7 of them were our kids cousins!!  So blessed to have cousins who live close by.

Little Man and Little Miss posed for a nice picture on the pumpkins.

While the older children were listening to a presentation about apple's and pumpkins, Little Busy Bee had other things on her mind besides sitting still.  She wandered to the pumpkins and tried to lift one:

She loved walking through the hay stacks and laughing at mom.

Little Miss enjoyed climbing on the straw.

Girls and Their Dresses

The cousins were over this afternoon.  Once we come into the house the girls quickly run into the playroom and turn themselves into "princesses."  They LOVE to dress up together.

Once I took a picture of the older girls, Little Busy Bee wanted to be in a picture.  (Ignore the drool - this is only due to a cold she has right now.  No fears that Big Brother's drooling has been passed on)

Car Ride Conversation

This morning the children and I had to run a quick errand.  On the way, Little Miss and Little Man starting having a conversation about Jesus and Heaven.  I love listening to their thoughts.

Little Man says "Where is heaven?  Is it in outer space?  Is it in that cloud in the sky?  Maybe someday we can get inside a hot air balloon and ride it up to heaven."

Little Miss adds "Where is Jesus at mom?  I can't see him.  How do we get to Him?  Can we drive to Him?"

Little Man continues "When we go to Heaven we will sing songs to Jesus and give Him gifts.  Maybe I'll give him my Lego's."

Little Miss asks "Did God die?  Did Jesus cry when He was on the cross?  Did Jesus bleed when He was dying?"

Little Man points out "We should have died on the cross for our sins, but Jesus did that for us.  Since He died for us, we are forgiven of our sins."

Little Miss says "Jakey look Buffalo Wild Wings - You know you like Buffalo Wild Wings."

And there ends our conversation about Heaven and Jesus.  I was trying to answer some questions between there many questions and thoughts. I love hearing where their little minds go.

This was on the way to the store.  On the way home, the ride was very peaceful and calm, until I look back and see Little Miss dancing in the aisle.  Note to self:  She can now unbuckle herself and finds it more fun to stand and dance then to sit and ride.

Busy Bee makes Big Mess

Our Little Busy Bee got out of mom's eyesight the other day and was quite quiet.  I knew this wasn't good, but by the time I got to her, it was too late and quite the mess.

She found the plant and thought it was fun to throw the dirt all over the floor and herself.

Daddy came upstairs right after the mess and this picture below is Busy Bee trying to "explain" herself to daddy.

Now she is acting surprised as Daddy asks her what happened?

She is very good at trying to redirect the conversation or the focus when she senses that maybe she might be in trouble.

Pumpkins

Dad and Little Man picked out three pumpkins for our family.  The kids couldn't wait to carve them.

We first attempted to get the three kids sitting by the pumpkins...you know how this goes with our family.

Next they had to decide on what face they would put on the pumpkin.

Then while Dad and Little Man got to work, mom put Little Busy Bee to bed; sitting and carving a pumpkin didn't really seem to interest this little girl.   She was more interested in running out of the garage to the street...much more fun!

When Little Miss came back after helping mom, she got a chance to pull some seeds out too.

Daddy then carved the face.

The kids couldn't wait to put a candle in him and see how he looked.

Brother Picks Hairstyle

Big Brother thought three piggy tails in this little girl would be cute.  So, we tried it!  She did look pretty cute actually!  And why not her sunglasses too!?!

Science Project

This year for science we are studying Dinosaurs (this subject was picked by Little Man).  He still LOVES dinosaurs and still believes that when he grows up he can be one.

This week we made a dinosaur egg.  Little Sister wanted to help and Big Brother was more than happy to have her assistance with the sticky glue.

Telephone Talker

This little girl loves to walk around our house holding her phone up to her ear and chatting away.  Then if mom looks at her, she laughs and laughs.  I love this age - everything is so cute and funny!

Last Day at Adventureland

This past weekend was the last day that Adventureland was open for the season.  So, we took some time on Sunday and went together one last time.

By the end of the year Little Busy Bee was finally able to go on some rides.  You can't tell by these pictures below and her facial expressions - but she LOVED the rides.  She tends to be a little like her brother in the fact that she takes everything in and can be quite serious with new adventures.  At home she will giggle and giggle when you get her going - but if she is with a new experience, she often is quite straight faced.

The last ride of the year - the Teacups!  They love to see how fast they can get dad spinning.
