End of Christmas Day

Our Christmas Day as a family ended nicely with driving around looking at Christmas lights, then coming home and eating dinner while watching one of the new movies the kids received for Christmas "Swiss Family Robinson."

Dinner in the family room is always interesting - especially with a 1 year old.  Busy Bee only stepped her foot into Big Brother's sweat potatoes one time.  She was kind of our food thief - heading from plate to plate asking for her favorites from each of us.

After Busy Bee went to bed, Purple Girl put on her new PJ's - one for her and one for her baby doll.

We have taken down the Christmas tree for the year and are ready to head into the Winter months.  Christmas time may be over for another year, but we are excited to get to celebrate the birth of Christ throughout another year!

Purple Girl and Nail Polish

Our Little Purple Girl seems to keep us on our toes.  Lately this Purple Girl has been sneaking out of her nap time area and getting into mom and dad's bathroom.  The other day she came to me with a handful of cough drops - unwrapped - and says "Mom, these kind of taste like strawberry....and they are making my hand sticky."  This while she was suppose to be napping.

On Christmas Eve - while the adults were playing cards and we thought the girls were all sleeping - she surprised us again.  Grammie went to check on Purple Girl and found her in mom and dad's bathroom looking like this:

Not only did she paint both her 10 toes and her 10 fingers, but she first found the nail polish remover and took off the polish on her toes.  She told Grammie "I only spilled a little on mom's floor."  For a three year old, she actually did a decent job of keeping the polish in the right place.

However, after this incident, it has been decided that the monitor is going back on Purple Girl during naptime to ensure that she is staying where she is suppose to be.

Our Little Purple Girl - she gives us many stories to tell :)

Christmas Celebration 2

On Christmas Eve we had fun celebrating with more cousins, Aunt, Uncles, and Grammie.
The girls were all dressed up in their purple!

The boys had a little fun with Daddy/Uncle.

The boys received new Lego's...they were SO excited.  They couldn't wait to go build them "all by themselves."  They are growing up and just love being together.

The girls received new princess dresses from Grammie.  Oh my - they were SO excited.  I believe one little girl couldn't even speak but just kept saying "Oh oh oh oh" and the other little girl said "This is just what I always wanted."

And Busy Bee - she received many nice gifts - but she mostly enjoyed wearing around her new hat and gloves....and once again - dancing in them.

We were blessed to have another nice day with family!  Thanks everyone for a wonderful day!

Christmas Celebration 1

We enjoyed a nice afternoon at Grandpa and Grandma's to celebrate Christmas.  Before the kids enjoyed opening some presents, they all sat for a picture with Grandma.

Busy Bee really does love her Grandma a lot; she was just upset because she wanted to sit by herself on the sofa like the big kids.

She was however very excited to get some new slippers.  She enjoyed "dancing" around in them.

We had a wonderful time - thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fun celebration!

Christmas Program Number 2

The children were blessed to be a part of another Christmas program this year at their Great Grandma's apartment building.

Purple Girl was an angel and Little Man was Joseph.

Little Busy Bee and her cousin LOVED riding around in the wheel chair together.

Daddy also got to be a part of the program.  He is a man of many talents.

Family Photo!

This little Purple Girl LOVES LOVES LOVES babies!  Her new baby cousin is a definite favorite of hers.  After she was allowed to hold this precious little girl, she then asked her aunt if she could practice carrying this little girl around.

Christmas Day

Christmas!  We have been blessed this year to celebrate the holiday with several different family members.  We were able to have these celebration prior to Christmas Day, so it turned out it was just the five us and baby within for Christmas Day!

The day started off with opening up presents in the kids stockings
(or their boots as Purple Girl calls them).

After boot opening was breakfast with consisted of an egg casserole and Orange Julius smoothies.

Daddy read the children a new book, while mommy prepared for the next activity.

Every Christmas we have a hunt to look for Baby Jesus to complete our nativity scene.  Last year Little Man went through the five clues and found Him, this year it was Purple girls turn.

Little Man read the clues and then off they would run to find the next one.

After finding Baby Jesus, we opened some presents.  The kids made one another books this year.

Little Man and Purple Girl made Busy Bee a book about animals.  She LOVES animals.

Little Man made Purple Girl a book titled "If *she* Lived In A Purple World..."
(who knew he would make her a book about purple).

Purple Girl made big brother a book titled "If *he* Had a Pet Dinosaur..."

Then they gave Daddy the gift they made for him....a homemade coffee mug which read "#1 Dad" and had a purple heart painted on it.

We enjoyed opening some other gifts from one another and then had a fun family day.  The kids received a few different games this year from family members, so Daddy and Little Man have been trying them out.  Lego's were also a highlight - so putting together different sets has kept us busy.

We are so grateful for all the fun we have had this Christmas season and so thankful for all the family we were blessed to spend this season with.  We missed the family who live further away and we didn't get to see.  We are more than blessed and couldn't be most thankful to our Lord and Savior for once again being our KING this Christmas season.

We hope you all have had a truly very Merry Christmas!

Snow and No Lights...

The kids were so excited to see the snow starting to fall....

We had quite the blizzard and woke up with the power out.  The kids enjoyed eating breakfast by candle light.  As it turned out we didn't have power for over 24 hours and were blessed to be able to stay at some friend's house overnight the following evening to keep warm.

The next day the kids couldn't wait to go outside and play with Daddy in the snow.

This little girl could have stayed outside all day in the snow...she LOVES being outside.

We....Two Kings...

December is an exciting time in our home, as in most homes I am sure.  Throughout the month we try to do an Advent activity every day (or as often as can).  One of the days we dress up like the wise men and carry gifts to baby Jesus.

One of our Wise Men didn't really want to participate.  She didn't appreciate having a crown on her head.  The other two wore their crowns almost the entire morning...yes, even when we went out running errands.

Dress Up.....Again

Who are we today?  Not sure....

Little Busy Bee just wanted to be in the picture too.  She enjoys saying "Cheese" and then "I see it" afterwards as she runs to the camera to see.

Purple Girl

If you spend any time in our home or around Little Miss, you know that she LOVES the color purple!  Whenever her Grandpa comes to visit, he calls her Purple Girl.  So, she has adapted this name in our home and doesn't mind being called it all (actually, as I am writing this, I think maybe I'll change her name on this blog from "Little Miss" to "Purple Girl.").

Our children tend to attach onto an outfit and want to wear it for DAYS in a row.  For some of you who knew Little Man years ago, you might remember him wearing that Bear coat for about 2 months straight.

Purple Girl found this dress in her closet and we are going on three straight days of this outfit.

She loved to dance before we went to Disney World, but now after seeing the Princesses, all she wants to do is put on her pretty dresses and dance, dance, dance.  She is always asking one us to twirl her around like the princesses.

Christmas Program

The kids were blessed to be a part of a Christmas program this afternoon at a nursing home in town.  They both memorized Bible verses to share, sang songs and enjoyed telling the residents
Merry Christmas.

The group:

Purple Girl before the performance began.

Singing Jingle Bells!

Purple Girl singing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." They were suppose to swing their arms when they said "We wish..."  She really got into this.  With her new LOVE for dancing - she wanted to dance through the entire performance.  Thanks to Aunt K-Fell holding Busy Bee for me, I was able to keep an eye on our Busy Purple Girl!

Little Man did such a good job talking to the residents afterwards and wishing them a Merry Christmas. He was very careful to make sure he didn't forget any one.

Thank you

Hello Family in Michigan -The kids want to thank you for their Christmas gifts.  They could not be more excited about their new outfits.  Of course we had to put them on right away - wear them all last night and now all day today too.

Little Miss Busy Bee received a new pair of shoes.  She just kept saying over and over again "shoes, shoes, shoes" as she tried so hard to get them on by herself.  (Yes, we offer to help, but our little girls are determined to accomplish things on their own).

The story behind the shoes come from this summer when we visited Aunt, Uncle and Cousins in Michigan.  Little Busy Bee LOVED trying on her one year old cousins shoes and wanted to wear them everywhere.  Her Aunt decided that maybe she needed a pair shoes just like her cousins.

She loves them!  Thank you again!
