Lunch Time Conversations

I love listening to the kids talk to one another.  Today at lunch we had applesauce and cinnamon.   Little Man says to his sister, "Sister, do you know where cinnamon comes from?"  He quickly answers for her "dirt.  cinnamon comes from dirt."  Little Sister thought her big brother was quite wise with this statement.  However, mom did step in and correct him.

Moments later we head upstairs for nap time.  Earlier this morning Little Miss had an incident of throwing her baby doll at mom.  Because of this, the baby doll got taken away and told she could not have it back until nap time.  She didn't forget and she was overjoyed to get her baby doll back.  After I handed it back to her, she ran into her room excited and I hear her say "Thank you God, thank you God for giving my baby back to me."  So funny and cute!

Crawling Soon?

Baby Girl is starting to look like she is interested in crawling.  She isn't yet, but probably will not be long.

More Dress Up

If you are following our Blog, it has probably become quite obvious that our children LOVE to play dress up.

According to Big Brother, above Little Miss was a firefigther butterfly heading to church (since she was wearing the fireman hat, the butterfly wings and her "church" shoes).  He was a race car driver and Little Sister was an adorable kitty.

New Bed

Little Miss received a toddler bed from her cousin, so Little Sister now has the crib.  Both beds are in the same room, but Little Sister is still sleeping in mom and dad's closet in the pack'n'play.  However, the crib is nice for play time during the day.

Little Sister was SO excited to hold onto the side and stand up.  She had a death grip on the crib, but was all smiles as she was showing off what a Big Girl she is!

While I was taking pictures of Little Sister, Little Man was reading a story to Little Miss.

Peek A Boo

Little Sister is all laughs and giggles when we play "peek a boo" with the blanket.  So fun for both her and for mom!

Good Friends

You often find these two boys together.  They have a lot of fun!

Babysitter Scene 2

Little Miss sure loves her Little Sister.  We are on a kick right now of being her "babysitter."  Once again Little Sister was sitting nicely playing and Little Miss makes her way around her back and says "mommy, I am the babysitter."

At first this is fine, but bless Little Miss, her heart is right, but sometimes her "love" isn't exactly what Little Sister is looking for.

Little Miss is coming in for the FULL SQUEEZE HUG and Little Sister is saying "kindly" No Thank you.

It didn't take long and Big Brother was coming in for the rescue.  He sure loves his sisters and if he sees one of them not being treated the way they should, he is quick to help them.

Babysitter

Little Miss crawled behind her Little Sister today and said to me "Mom, I am her babysitter."

Little Sister was okay with this for a moment, but as the hugs became tighter, she wasn't too interested.

Little Miss wasn't giving up easy on her responsibility as "babysitter," but Little Sister was ready to be "free"

Oh, the fun these two will have together as sisters!

Rainbow

We were blessed to see a rainbow the other night on our drive home.  Little Miss was with me and she was SO excited.  She kept saying "Thank you Jesus, Thank you for giving us the rainbow, Thank you Jesus."  When we got home it was still out, so we snapped a picture.

Watching the Rain

The other night we had a nice rain shower.  The children enjoyed sitting out on the front porch with daddy and watching the rain come down.

Nine Months Old

Our Littlest is nine months old today.  She has grown up so much this past month.  She went from not moving, to rolling all over the place, from barely "talking" to having a lot to say, and from standing still in her walker to walking all over.  Yes, my life is about to come a lot busier when she becomes mobile.

Our Sweet Little Girl  - such a blessing to our family!

Baby Girl and her glasses

We found some sunglasses for baby girl at a garage sale.
I don't think she'll get any real use out of them, but they were cute for a picture.

More Dress Up

It is a cool, windy day here, so we decided to play inside this morning.
The kids went straight for the dress up.  We had fun!

The kids even got their Little sister involved this time.

Then they convinced Mom to dress up in a old bridesmaid dress I had worn even before Little Man was born.  It fit (just barely). Little Man did a good job taking this picture.

Little Man giving his serious pose!

But it didn't take long for him to be laughing and giving me his true Little Man pose!

Little Miss always goes back to her Eeyore costume and once again her "church" shoes.

Little Man found a new tiger costume!

Going on a Date

Little Man and Little Miss were playing so quietly and nicely upstairs this morning while I cleaned the home and our Littlest took a nap.  When I finally went to check on them, here is what I saw:

Little Miss tells me "We are going on a date mom."  They get excited when they know mom and dad are going on a date - now it was their turn.

Little Man said they were going to Incredible Pizza to eat food and play games.

Little Miss had on her bunny ears, her too small Tiger outfit on backwards and her "church" shoes as she calls them.

Little Man was sporting the suit coat he wore to his Aunt Mandy's wedding and shoes with his bright orange pants.

Quite the combinations!

The Walker

Our Littlest is just starting to really enjoy the walker.  She has been moving backwards for awhile now, but over the weekend she started to discover how to move forward.  And also the "fun" it will bring!

Does this look familiar?

Remember this picture below?

This is Little Miss at 9 months in the walker.  However, she was moving around a lot faster than her little sister is right now.

Time To Celebrate

Easter Sunday brought an exciting time into our home.  It was time to celebrate our Lord and Savior and the fact that He rose from the dead for us.  The kids enjoyed making some Jello and creating an "Easter" theme with it.

We had planned to be in Nebraska for the weekend, but due to the illness, we stayed in Iowa.  We did get to celebrate with our already contaminated cousins and Grammie.

Every holiday brings pictures.  You would think if the Duggars (of 19 Kids and Counting) could get 19 children to look at the camera, we could get four.

We tried standing.....but that didn't work.

Then sitting - oh, so close!

One more try....

The girls are smiling!  Yea, we caught all four looking at the camera!

Now the family picture.....

Here we go again.
Girls, girls, girls....Look at Grammie at the camera!
And Little Man - his funny faces.

Let's try again:

Hey, we are all looking!  YEA!

Little Jumper

Our Littlest was enjoying some time jumping in the jumper.

Daddy and her were enjoying some time together,
but it didn't take long, and Little Miss wanted to join right in.

Have I mentioned lately that Little Miss LOVES her little sister?!

Egg Hunt

Over the past week the children and I have enjoyed going through the Easter/Resurrection Story of Jesus Christ.  A good friend of mine put together a list of 31 different passages from the Bible that lead up the resurrection.  She then put with each verse a visual that could be placed in a plastic egg.  So, the children and I read the passages and then the kids love opening the eggs to see what is in them.

After we go through a few every day, I let the kids hide the eggs.  They LOVE searching for them.

Little Miss was cracking me up the other morning as her and Little Man attempted to hide eggs for one another.

This is how it went.  Little Man would leave the room and let Little Miss hide the eggs for him.

When Little Man would re-enter the room he was tell his little sister "Don't tell me where they are."  So Little Miss would sit quietly for maybe a second with a huge smile on her face as she tried her best not to point out the eggs she had hidden.

But, it would not take long and she would be pointing with a HUGE smile "Look here "big brother" look here."

This would of course frustrate her big brother who wanted to find the eggs by himself.  So, as gently and patiently as he could, he would ask his little sister to re-hide the egg that she had shown him.

She would graciously do this for him; however, it wasn't long and off she was again pointing out another egg.

You can imagine how long this whole process took us.  And I could do nothing except sit back and laugh.  It was a fun time :)

Game With Daddy

Daddy found a fun game to play with his Littlest.  He started leaning his head to the side and our Littlest thinks it is quite fun to copy him.  Now, whenever she sees daddy, the first thing she does is lean to the side.  Quite cute.

Sick Days

Sick days bring video watching.  The children enjoyed watching a Signing Time together.
