Yes, our snowman was knocked over in the middle of the night. I knew the children, especially Little Man, would be quite upset about this. When we first told him, he was ready to take revenge on the people who did it (although we had no idea who). It was a wonderful opportunity to teach our children about praying for those who persecute us and to forgive even if we don't know who.
It took Little Man a little while to come to grasps with these concepts. But today, only two later, he says to me out of the blue, "Mom, I hope those people who knocked down our snowman will pray to Jesus and Jesus will take them to heaven." He continued to say all on his own, "Mom, we shouldn't overcome evil with evil, but evil with good. We should forgive them."
It was so sweet and I am so thankful to God for allowing this to happen - I love these learning opportunities for all of us as a family.
