Five Years Old
We will officially have a FIVE year old tomorrow (3/27) at 9:06pm. We have already celebrated his birthday with family. It seems like every year he is dressed up as some character for his birthday. Thanks Grammie for his new FAVORITE clothing to wear.
Little Man's birthday theme this year was "Arrows" and
his birthday verse was Psalm 127:4, which says:
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
are children born in one’s youth.
Daddy decorated the cake for him this year.
It would not be a birthday without a picture of the birthday boy blowing out his candles.
He is sure a loved little boy. We couldn't be more blessed or
more grateful to our Lord for blessing us with him.

Funny Children
My two oldest children both gave me quite the smile today.
First of all, shortly after we started school, baby girl was ready for her morning nap. So, I gave Little Man two worksheets to complete while Little Miss and I went upstairs to lay baby down. When I returned he had both worksheets placed to the side and was waiting patiently for us. I went to correct the worksheets and saw this:
(I am not sure how well you can read this - but by one of the problems he had just written "HELP ME" - it made me laugh as he just smiled at me and said "I needed help."
Then during our snack time this morning I had a CD playing that was reading through the New Testament. The kids do a pretty good job listening. We were in Luke 5 and this section was being read:
He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. 38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’”
When it was over, Little Miss says to me:
"Mom, Jesus is telling me 'No whining!"
I got quite the smile and also agreed with her
that Jesus does not want us to whine.
Rainy Day Activity #2
After it stopped raining, we headed straight outside....
What were they in a hurry to do?
They were on a worm hunt!
They both enjoyed grabbing them...and then what?
Throwing them back into the grass. Don't worry - they were being nice :)
And of course Little Miss didn't want baby sister to be left out -
She made sure that baby sister got to see a worm up close and personal!

Nap Time?
While both her older brother and younger sister are fast asleep, this little one was busy in her room. I had heard some noise up there, but like any mom would do during "nap" time "if they are not screaming and not coming out of their room, let it go..." So I did. But around 3pm I saw this smiley face pop out of her room.
What do you think? Does this look like a little girl who napped this afternoon?
On another note - look what we found at Wal-Mart today for Little Miss...
A purple fan for this PURPLE LOVER!
We needed a fan for her room - but what are the chances we find a purple one? She of course LOVES it.
Rainy Day Activity #1
Last week the weather was sunny and warm...this week we have had rain. That is okay though, we can still find fun things to do when the temperature is warm.
Little Sister was quite entertained the other night after dinner as she watched her older brother and sister jump around in the rain.

Mom and Son Lunch Date
I got the opportunity to take Little Man out on a lunch date.
We went to Culver's, so of course we enjoyed some ice cream for dessert.

Eight Months Old
Our Littlest is 8 months old today.
Where does the time go? We are so blessed to have this little girl - we couldn't be more grateful.
This picture is one of our favorite's:
She is now clapping her hands, trying to wave good-bye and says "da da" all the time. She is even tries to "sing" with her daddy - very cute!

Saturday's On The Land
Now that we have purchased some land, it looks like we'll be spending a lot of our weekends on it. With the purchase of the land came the purchase of a new tractor.
Little Miss enjoyed "driving" the tractor.
So did mom!
(and if you are wondering, yes, I actually drove the tractor, I did not just sit for a picture).
We also enjoyed hiking through the woods again.
Little Man has no fear and enjoys conquering whatever stands in his way.
This pictures shows the area of the land that the River is on.

Wake Up Little Miss Content
Big Brother is often the first one to greet Little Miss Content in the morning or after nap times. He is so helpful to go and talk with her before mom makes it. When Big Brother wakes up Little Miss Content, it is peaceful.
BUT, when BIG Sister comes to say Good Morning, not so peaceful!
Baby sister loves them both - she enjoys both her older siblings personalities!

First Haircut
Little Miss had her first real hair cut.
We were blessed to have a good friend come over and cut it for her.
We need to give this friend much credit for the good job she did - because if you know Little Miss - sitting still is not in her daily schedule.

Little Man vs. Land
First Weekend at the Land....
Little Man vs. Land....
I think the Land won! (Picture doesn't show all the marks on his little face)
He didn't care though - he had SO much!

Land!
We have been blessed to be able to purchase a piece of land with some friends about 30 minutes from our home. This was our first weekend out at the land and the "kids" (big and small) had so much fun!
Right now there is just a small "cabin" on the land, which we worked on cleaning up this past weekend. Little Miss is always right there to offer a helping hand.
The children loved eating lunch together all bundled up on the floor.
Part of the land is on a river; we enjoyed a hike down to the river.
We are excited for this opportunity for our children to grow up working on some land
and all the fun they will have.
Once again we praise and thank our Lord - as we know that all our blessings are from HIM!

Dress Up Like Big Brother
Big Brother was busy doing school and had left his beloved cowboy boots and what he calls his "farmer hat" on the stairs. It didn't take long until we heard giggling and saw Little Miss coming around the corner...
She sure thinks she is funny as she runs around the kitchen. She keeps us laughing!

Museum
The other morning we took a field trip with the cousins to a free museum in town. I brought the camera and took several pictures of the four of them....what are the chances I got all four to look at the camera at the same time? Let's see....
Photo Attempt 1....1 for 4.....
Photo Attempt 2....2 for 4.....
Photo Attempt 3....3 for 4.....
Photo Attempt 4....SO CLOSE...but again, 3 for 4 (notice who NEVER looked at the camera)...
Little Miss Content was a long too - she looks at the camera for me. She liked the BIG Moose.
All By Myself
What has Little Miss decided she will do all by herself now?
Rock herself to sleep as she sings "Rock a bye baby."
I had been rocking with her, but when I asked if I could rock her this time, she said "No, I do it all by myself." She then continued to sing herself a song and climb into bed, "all by herself."

Horsey Ride Please Daddy
Little Man and Little Miss LOVE when their daddy gives them a horsey ride. Daddy only charges one thing for the ride - A KISS FROM LITTLE MISS. She doesn't give kisses out very easily to any one - but when it comes to horsey rides, it is worth it.
She got the ride....
