Funny Children

My two oldest children both gave me quite the smile today.

First of all, shortly after we started school, baby girl was ready for her morning nap.  So, I gave Little Man two worksheets to complete while Little Miss and I went upstairs to lay baby down.  When I returned he had both worksheets placed to the side and was waiting patiently for us.  I went to correct the worksheets and saw this:

(I am not sure how well you can read this - but by one of the problems he had just written "HELP ME" - it made me laugh as he just smiled at me and said "I needed help."

Then during our snack time this morning I had a CD playing that was reading through the New Testament.  The kids do a pretty good job listening.  We were in Luke 5 and this section was being read:

He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. ³⁷ And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. ³⁸ But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. ³⁹ And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’”

When it was over, Little Miss says to me:

"Mom, Jesus is telling me 'No whining!"

I got quite the smile and also agreed with her

that Jesus does not want us to whine.
